Fine ART pop-up in Galerie Wind – Prins Hendrikkade 124A
Opening 8 november 15.00. Welkom!

The bond between humans and animals is a central theme in the work of Jeannette Ephraïm.
The artist-duo invites plays with shapes, structures and symbolism. Their work explores the relationship between the human world and nature, using animal figures and human forms to create surprising and imaginative worlds. Their paintings and assemblage art are an interplay of chaos and harmony, wild and tamed at the same time.

Rotterdam - From March 29 through April 19, F-ART - Fine Art Pop-up Rotterdam organizes (an initiative of artist and designer duo Mishmash) the brand new group exhibition “COLOR MATTERS!” An exhibition in which color plays the leading role and in which a diverse group of artists and designers present their work in a visual spectacle of materials, styles and techniques. Step into the world of: Kosuke Takahashi Pedro Cherino invites Bokdesign Theo Rooden Maori Kimura With a kaleidoscopic array of hues and textures, designers, painters and a weaver bring their work to life. From bold brushstrokes to refined handiwork “COLOR MATTERS!” celebrates the power of color and its impact on art and design. This exhibition is a colorful feast for the eyes and a unique opportunity to experience the diversity of contemporary art and design. The participants: Kosuke Takahashi Product designer and inventor, a graduate of Keio University in Tokyo. He focuses on “ Invention for Unity”-innovations that connect people regardless of disability, ethnicity, age or gender-and uses technology and design to bring people closer together. His pioneering work did not go unnoticed. Kosuke was named one of the 20 Most Innovative Japanese within the Wired Audi Innovation Award. In addition, he has received prestigious awards, including the Good Design Award, Dia Award and the Japan Sign Design Award. Pedro Cherino Trained in Barcelona as a designer and later a sculptor, Pedro Cherino taught himself to paint, seeking in it his own intuitive visual language. His canvases are not flat surfaces, but almost sculptural objects. Layer after layer, he pours paint onto the canvas, allowing the colors to collide and merge in a sensual way. The appeal of his work lies in the bold colors and flowing forms. invites Dutch artists and designers Henk Bezemer and Frank van Oosten have been working together since the early 1990s under the common name invites from their gallery and studio in downtown Rotterdam. They primarily create assemblage art and narrative colorful paintings, but also design complete interiors for hotels and public spaces in which art plays a major role. Bokdesign Trained as an architect, but mostly driven by an indomitable urge to experiment, Sander Bokkinga transforms the world around him. His work is a celebration of creativity, a playful rebellion against the predictable, and as he says himself, he is an “Urban Huntsman for Ingenious Freedom.” His art is not an object, but an experience, a moment of wonder, interaction and pure pleasure. He moves between reality and imagination, where rules and conventions fade and space is created for something new. Theo Rooden Weaving visual artist Theo Rooden creates geometric abstract work. Colorful yet minimalist. He searches for balance between the limitations and possibilities of weaving techniques and his own intentions and imposed rules. In many of his works he plays a game with depth and flatness. He likes to work in series to make variations visible. Maori Kimura Graduated from Tama Art University in Tokyo in textile design and having worked as a textile and bag designer for Issey Miyake, she brings her unique style to life in Rotterdam under the name Maori Kimura Design Studio. Her work balances effortlessly between functionality and art, stimulating the imagination and bringing a smile to everyday life with playful, vibrant forms. With a curious approach, she experiments with numerous techniques and creates surprising designs full of texture, color and expression. |

The work of artist Wil Jansen will be on display from November 23 through December 21, 2024. In this exhibition, Wil Jansen shows her oil paintings (including the latest), in which she re-examines the fundamental aspects of painting. Using nature as her inspiration, she delves deeper into the world of color, form and the unique properties of paint, with the painting process itself being an essential part of her work. Jansen's paintings are a dynamic interplay of colored planes, lines, dots, stripes, cracks and craters, which together reveal the rich texture of the paint and paint skin. The paint is applied in thick layers, making the works almost objects or reliefs. Brush and pallet knife strokes are clearly visible, enhancing the tangibility of her work. The painting process itself is of great importance to Jansen: a constant repetition of applying and removing paint again, always relying on her experience and observation. Wil is not only concerned with paint (although you might think so because it is so thick on the canvas), but also color plays a central role in her work. She often chooses “sweet” colors, which have a comforting effect. “Colors make me happy, just as flowers do,” Jansen says of her work. Even when a painting does not succeed according to her expectations, she still always has the feeling of having had a nice day, so important is the act of painting to her. Wil Jansen was born in Rotterdam and began her artistic career only after a career as a veterinarian. From 1994 to 1999 she studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and has been working as a visual artist ever since. Her work is a search for the underlying structures of nature and the world around her, translated into an abstract but emotionally charged visual language. This exhibition is a unique opportunity to admire (and perhaps even purchase!) a large collection of artworks by Wil Jansen. Don't miss this special opportunity! |

F•ART will show from October 19 to November 16 a series of new works by the versatile artist Astrid van Rijngraduated in 1993 from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam in the direction of Autonomous Art. She is known for her work as a draftsman, painter, photographer and assemblage artist.
In this new series, van Rijn brings together her love for photography and drawing in a unique way. Although these disciplines appear to be separate at first glance, her ambition is to integrate them. The result of this artistic search can be seen in the latest, previously unexhibited works in the art series “Carbon".
Astrid takes nature photos that serve as building blocks for creating a new biotope; these are constructed digitally and ultimately combined into one image. Once an interesting image has emerged, van Rijn begins the next phase: drawing over the photo with charcoal, conté, Siberian and pastel chalk.
Biologist and artist Lauran van Oers describes the series as follows:
“The works of art in the series are not only visually attractive from a distance, with their abstract effect of gray and black tones, but also invite you to view them up close. There's something magical about them. They are dark, but make you curious. When you look at them up close, you are overwhelmed by the multitude of shapes and rhythmic patterns, which reflect the chaos and energy of life itself.”

“Enchantment of the eye” by Henk van Vessem as fifth exhibition at F-ART - fine art pop-up Rotterdam
F-ART will show a series of new works by renowned artist Henk van Vessem from September 7 to October 5.
Rotterdam resident Henk van Vessem (b. 1939) studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Rotterdam and since the 1970s has caused a furor both in the Netherlands and abroad with his lyrical abstract paintings.
He is an artist who paints with a grand gesture in strongly contrasting colors.
His work radiates passion, warmth and security. Each painting reflects an inner reality, characterized by an exceptional sense of composition and virtuoso paint handling.
Van Vessem draws his inspiration from his immediate surroundings and personal feelings. Whether it is landscapes, the cosmos or poetry, his goal is to capture the emotion of the moment on canvas. “I work from my feelings, my gut.”
At age 84, Van Vessem is still working flat out.
The exhibition at F-ART offers a unique opportunity to admire his latest works, from which the energy and zest for life are bursting forth.

This Platform was founded in 2007 by Dutch artist Ron Weijers, who initiated the first version of the 'skull project' at the time of the Covid-19 pandemic as an artistic stimulus in a dark and uncertain period. By popular demand, the 2nd version of this art project now sees the light of day. The selected artists received from organizer 10dence platform a real-size plastic skull, which they have reworked to their own liking to create extraordinary art objects that are now displayed by F•ART .
Also artist duo MISHMASH is one of the participants in this project; they turned the skull into a piece of assemblage art ‘Coffee, Tea, Me?’

The Dutch photographer Frans van Viegen graduated Cum Laude from the Amsterdam Photo Academy with an installation that formed the start of a series of works that he named“Interactive Narratives” .
Since then he has been constantly looking for daring combinations of images to express his fascination with the city, nature and people.
Alienation is always a silent undercurrent in his work.
We exhibit Frans's photographic stories, made with, among other things, the lenticular technique, a complex process that allows multiple images to be superimposed. This creates spectacular abstract works of art that change with every movement of the viewer, creating a hallucinatory experience.
Frans has exhibited his work at home and abroad and we are super excited that it can also be admired here! June 19th we will start building and our studio will become a gallery again, June 22 is the festive opening, up to and including July 15, 2024 you can admire his “Photographic Narratives” at F•ART – fine art pop-up rotterdam!

Irene is a creative all-rounder; she designs patterns for textiles, wall coverings, and carpets, developing new color schemes, materials, and techniques for leading interior brands. Additionally, she has nearly a decade of experience in branding and marketing. This combination provides her with a unique blend of skills that she employs as powerful tools to transform spaces and touch people with her art and design.
Her work was featured in the "Paris Design Week" and on "Masterly – The Dutch in Milano”.

The first artist to whom Mishmash entrusts the key is AnneKær photography. AnneKær fotografie.
Her new autonomous work "Nature's Symphonies" // (The (Healing) Sounds of Nature) will be on display from March 23rd to April 27th.
Anne: In my autonomous work as a photographer, nature almost always forms the basis. In Natures Symphonies, I show visual work that is part of my ongoing project': "The (healing) sounds of Nature"..
My fascination with the outdoors and pioneering with my camera is immense. In my selected work, I explore my way of seeing and experiencing rhythm and music in nature. I delve into how I connect with these "melodies" and what meaning they hold for me in both happy and challenging periods of my life.
“I dedicate my visual art as vibrations, frequencies in high, low and sometimes deep tones.”
